Mexico City- On  Saturday 12th September, countries across the Caribbean Region celebrated Caribbean Wellness Day.  This annual event is geared at increasing awareness and promoting activities to address the epidemic of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which continues to severely impact the health, economy and development of the Caribbean.  Caribbean Wellness Week was held on September 22nd - 26th in Belize. Embracing this health initiative, the Embassy of Belize in Mexico provided basic blood chemistry tests; and muscle mass, weight and fat tests for its staff. Nutritional talks and guidlines were also presented. The Embassy thanks Mrs. Araceli Martinez Coronado- Nutritionist, and Sanatorio Adventista Laboratorio for their facilitation of this activity.

BELMOPAN – The nation of Belize celebrated its 34th Independence Anniversary on the 21st of September this year. Government Officials, Ambassadors and the Belizean public, congregated at Independence Plaza for Prime Minister Dean Barrow’s Annual Independence Speech.

BELIZE - The Embassy of Belize in Mexico, in collaboration with the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA), is pleased to announce that it hosted a very successful Familiarization Trip from the 28th to the 31st of August 2015, with Mexican travel agents and journalists.  This main purpose of the initiative was to promote Belize as an attractive tourism destination to the Mexican community.  The private sector's involvement in establishing new partnerships and working relations with Mexican counterparts and stakeholders in tourism is paramount to the development of our tourism industry. 

 

The Fam Trip focused on Northern Belize and the Northern Islands, and future FAM trips will focus on other parts of Belize such as: Western Belize (Cayo/Belmopan), Southeast Coast (Dangriga, Hopkins, Placencia), and Southern Belize (Toledo).
